BFB EMG training device is designed for training muscles (either single muscle or a group of) using biofeedback method (BFB). It provides the possibility to train the control of the tone, tremor, as well as the phase activity of muscles with regulation of the proposed load.

BFB or Biofeedback is a method of teaching arbitrary regulation of various physiological functions and motor acts through their visual or audio representation in real time. The BFB method uses the so-called "physiological mirror" principle, when by means of special hardware a person receives direct information about various physiological functions. The formation of such feedback channel allows to learn both arbitrary regulation of a given function and involuntary regulation, i.e. without the participation of consciousness.

Any movement is accompanied by a contraction of one or another muscle, which can be displayed on an electromyogram. BFB-EMG training device "Biokinekt" provides efficient rehabilitation of patients with motor disorders by the method of biological feedback on the basis of registration and analysis of EMG. This type of non-drug treatment is indicated for patients with impaired functions of the musculoskeletal system of various genesis, as well as for persons with psychoemotional disorders – for relieving tension and relaxation. It also helps to create strong muscular corset and prevent diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

During the BFB training session, the amplitude, the rhythm of the bioelectrical activity of the muscle and its phase activity are determined and clearly displayed by the EMG. According to these parameters, the physician adjusts the level of the load taking into account the condition and capabilities of the patient. The person exercises the necessary muscle training, achieving the required values of these parameters with the help of biofeedback. During training, the function of the muscle is improved, its tone and contractility increases, the muscular feeling and awareness of muscle tension in different parts of the body are trained. During the correction of motor disorders accompanied by spasticity and hyperkinetic activity, the ability to relax the spasms is trained. In the training process, coordination control is increased, the relationship of the antagonist muscles is restored, pathological synkinesia and synergies are corrected.

One of the goals of the BFB-training by EMG is the formation of motor skills. So, with correction of posture disorders and scoliotic disease, during the BFB-training not only the work of weakened muscles is strengthened, spasms are relaxed, muscle trophic properties are improved, but the habit of keeping correct posture is also formed. The uneven distribution of muscular load on the spine is corrected, a strong muscular corset is formed, therefore stabilization of the spine is achieved.

To increase motivation for training, exciting game environments have been developed, thus the treatment process becomes enjoyable and interesting.

Diagnostic functions of the complex also allows to evaluate muscle tone, tremor, and amplitude-phase parameters of the muscle. These estimates are useful for controlling the dynamics during the training of the musculoskeletal system in the mechanic equipment and during exercise therapy.

To assess the dynamics of recovery processes, the function of recording the results of training in the patient database is provided.

BFB-EMG training device "Biokinekt" allows you to train a group of muscles as well as any one specific muscle. This is important for conditions where you only need to work on a particular muscle to strengthen or relax it and compensate for existing disorders. Almost invisible muscle movements are visualized and trained. In the process of BFB-training, the work of weakened muscle is strengthened, its trophic is improved, and its function becomes properly arranged.

It is possible to evaluate muscle activity not only by electromyogram, but also by tremor. In addition to conducting a BFB-training by EMG, the "Biokinekt" training device allows for the diagnosis and training of tremors. Biomechanical sensors detect high-frequency (up to 100 Hz) and low-amplitude jitter of muscles that are not perceptible to the human eye. BFB-training is conducted on the basis of frequency, amplitude and spectral characteristics of the tremor.

Stand-alone wireless sensors "Trust-M" are small in size and weight, do not limit movement, easily attach to the patient's body, provide comfortable use, including for bedridden patients.

The sensors provide the function of electrical stimulation, which, if necessary, can become an additional stimulation technique for muscles.
